Amrit Kaur Layal – Clinical Manager | Dental Educator | Infection Prevention & Control Specialist

Amrit Kaur Layal is a highly accomplished Clinical Manager, TAFE NSW Dental Educator, and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Specialist with over 15 years of experience in dental practice management, clinical compliance, and vocational education.
Her career reflects a deep passion for maintaining the highest standards of infection control and ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient dental environments. As a Clinical Manager at Painfree Dentistry, Amrit oversees a team of more than 30 staff, managing infection control systems, accreditation compliance, and sterilisation workflows in accordance with AS 5369 and ADA IPC Guidelines. She conducts comprehensive infection control audits, staff training, and practice accreditation support for multiple dental practices across Sydney.
In addition to her management role, Amrit serves as a Dental Assisting Educator at TAFE NSW, where she mentors and inspires the next generation of dental professionals. Her teaching is driven by a genuine commitment to instilling infection prevention awareness, aseptic technique, and best-practice compliance in her students.
Her professional qualifications include multiple Diplomas in Leadership, Practice Management, and Compliance Auditing, alongside Certificate III and IV Dental Assisting credentials and advanced certifications in Sterilisation Services, Oral Health Promotion, and Radiography. She continually updates her skills through professional development programs such as the Infection Control Boot Camp by Prof. Laurence J. Walsh, Hand Hygiene Auditor Training, and ACIP membership.
Recognised for her leadership and mentorship, Amrit received the Diploma of Practice Management Award, presented by the Australian Prime Minister in 2018. She combines technical expertise, compassion, and innovation — using her knowledge to strengthen infection prevention systems, elevate dental safety culture, and promote continuous improvement across the profession.
Amrit’s guiding principle is simple yet powerful: “Infection prevention is not just a compliance requirement — it’s the foundation of patient trust and professional excellence.”
When every member of the healthcare team takes responsibility for infection prevention, we create a culture of safety, reduce risks, and protect the wellbeing of both patients and staff. IPC is not just a requirement — it is a professional commitment to care, safety, and excellence.

As a passionate educator, Amrit
